Well, I hope that everyone has had a good “day” of your preference (I can’t say religious cause that would just automatically assume that everyone has a religion of sorts) and that things are going well. This is a copy of the letter that I sent to Tower Hobbies about their product they sent me. I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I hated having to fix it.

My current company has a policy, you get your birthday off. Apparently, this policy can be waived when you are the only person who can do whatever job they need at that instant.

Merry whatever it is you are down with celebrating. Sara and I managed to make it to five Christmas-es in two days this year. That’s a record for us. I hope that you aren’t wasting your time today reading this as I’m not wasting my time writing this. Truth be told, I wrote this on the 23rd, but I’m just now getting enough time to actually release it out because I had no idea how many places we were going to make it.

All that aside, I hope that you have a wonderful day of your belief structure and that you friends and family do as well.

Oh yeah … screw you all you political correctness bastards! Merry Christmas!

Yep, that’s right. CompUSA came in sucking again as per usual. If you’ve read my “Black Friday” post, you’ll know that I had an o-so-fun time at CompUSA. If you haven’t read it, you really need too. The comment that I got back was that “I would be willing to go do that again just to see how you would write up what happened.” Anyway, this is the closure to that story that some of you may have felt was missing … mainly my DVD player.

This is just a really quick one because I forgot to post this last week. Basically, I got a call from Xetron and the gentleman told me that I would have to wait until the second week of January to hear anything about the possibility of a position. Now of course, this doesn’t mean that I’m going to get a job with them, but it doesn’t mean that I won’t get a job with them either. I was also told that I was a favored candidate so hopefully there will be lots of security code in my future.

It has been a long time since there has been a really good rant on here. Now I’m not talking about a little “This sucks!” type of rant, I’m talking about a rant in it’s purest form. That would be a rant that just keeps it coming and comes out all cow’s grazing. That my friends is what I intend to deliver.

FBI

Alright, reader interaction time!

Imagine the FBI is coming to interview you about me and ask you what kind of person I am to determine if I should receive security clearances or not. What story would you tell them about me? Feel free to fictionize where needed. (If I get the job where I need this, I’m sure I’ll regret doing this later :) )

So today is officially one and a half weeks since my interview at Xetron. Technically, I could call back and say, “What’s up g-funk?,” but I think I’m going to hold off. You have no idea how much self control that takes. Especially when you are running on a limited amount of self control such as myself. It’s beginning to make me feel week…like I could afford to just go out and buy that 52″ TV. But I’ll resist…for now. I’m really just at work and am very bored, but I’m working on a very nice, very long tirade, so be ready.

I hate waiting. It drives me banana sandwich. No, scratch that. It drives me up a banana sandwich tree. It’s been one whole week since my interview with Xetron and I’ve heard nothing back. Now I know that I’m not supposed to get a call for at least a week, but I don’t think that I’m entirely irrational in thinking that a week and a few minutes would be a good time for a call :) . Yeah, I know, I’m full of crap, but you learn to live with these things. Actually, they said it would probably be longer than a week, but I think that what I’ve been working on these past few days has been annoying the crap out of me.

Anyone who’s read this blog knows that I’m fed up with work for the stupid stuff that they make me do. I would have to say that’s not nearly as frustrating as not being trusted at work. I have no idea how many times I, Eric, and Micah told them that the backup solution was horrid and we would be up shit creek (yes, creek, not crick you damn hillbillies) without a paddle, but no one would ever believe us. After I became the only engineer, I raised the same point. It was again ignored. Then a server needed to be restored from scratch. Two days. Two days trying to restore a server from backup tapes that were supposed to work. I had to go back two quarters to get portions of the system that were just “mysteriously” missing from the backup tapes. I would like to take a moment to say that Retrospect is the WORST backup software on the market. I hope someone from there calls me up and says “Why would you say our software sucks? You are supposed to be a partner with us and sell our software.” just so I can tell them why they are worthless. But back to the topic, no trust to the engineers. It’s because of incidents like this that I want nothing to do with my current company. My new phase I’ve adopted is

I’m an engineer; by default, I am right.
